Old Time Basketball
Exidy
This is a circuit board from Exidy's Old Time Basketball. It controls the ball feed motor, the defensive player movement and counts the baskets made. The logic that counts the balls and extends play when a certain score is reached is on the left. The power supply is in the upper right and the analog audio which creates the crowd noise is in the lower right.
I normally try and stay away from computer logic and discrete logic if possible. However this game was from a favorite customer and so I took a look at it. If you look closely you will see two of the chips located in sockets, replaced by me. It appears the motor voltage got plugged into the digital logic and toasted some of the chips. I finally got to use my logic probe!
